NFC can connect almost any physical object to a digital link, but that does not mean every NFC idea is useful.
The best applications solve a repeated problem: customers need to reach the same page again and again, and a tap makes that easier.
1. Google Review stand
Best for: salons, barbers, restaurants, hotels, gyms, garages and local services.
A customer taps a small stand at the end of the visit and the Google review page opens. This is one of the simplest NFC uses because the action and location are clear.
See ZEQILO Review or read our full guide to NFC Google Review stands.
2. Booking or appointment stand
Best for: salons, clinics, gyms, trainers and service businesses.
A tap opens the booking page. This works well near reception or checkout where the customer is already thinking about the next visit.
3. Guest Wi-Fi touchpoint
Best for: hotels, cafés, coworking spaces, waiting rooms and venues.
A clearly labelled NFC touchpoint can open Wi-Fi information or a guest page instead of making staff repeat the same instructions.
See more ideas in our guide to NFC for hotels and restaurants.
4. Social media stand
Best for: barbers, salons, gyms, cafés, creators and events.
A tap opens the social profile you actually want customers to see. This works best when the account offers something useful, such as new work, events, availability or updates.
5. Digital menu or information point
Best for: restaurants, cafés, hotels and events.
An NFC stand can open a menu, event schedule, guest information page or other frequently updated content.
6. NFC business card
Best for: sales, networking, freelancers, agencies and events.
A reusable NFC business card can open LinkedIn, a digital contact page, portfolio or website. The physical card stays with you while the other person saves the information.
Which NFC idea should you start with?
Start with the action customers already try to do. If staff constantly give out the Wi-Fi password, solve that. If reviews matter most, build around reviews. If customers struggle to rebook, open the booking page.
What about multi-link NFC stands?
A multi-link stand can be useful when several actions belong together. But more buttons do not always make a better product. One clear action can convert better than five vague ones.
Custom NFC products
Because NFC tags are small, the surrounding product can take many forms. ZEQILO combines NFC with custom 3D printing so the physical object can match the logo, colour and space around it.
